Every year, the medical student association organizes an event known as the White Coat Ceremony where the new, first year medical students are welcomed to the world of medicine. The whole ceremony creates a warm environment for the first year students and welcomes them to the family of the faculty. In the ceremony the students are directed through an oath of ethical and professional promises for their career as physicians. They promise to work hard to be able to treat their patients and protect their privacy. The ceremony also involves awarding students and teachers for their distinguished performances in their year before. This encourages the new students to become hard workers early in their careers.
